Senior Official Meeting of Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) meeting
chaired by the Government of Indonesia
The Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) presented the APCD/Japan-ASEAN Integrated Fund (JAIF) Project's past achievements in the Mekong Sub-region and future plans at the Senior Official Meeting of Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) chaired by the Government of Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia on 28 September 2016. The Meeting is part of the 9th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting hosted by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with the theme of "Strengthening Social Welfare Development in Pursuing ASEAN Community Vision 2025".
Positive feedback was given by senior government representatives from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam, in addition to the senior representatives from the Government of Thailand.

Collaboration with Liliane Foundation, Bangkok, Thailand, 22-24 September 2016
Meeting participants from Asia and The Netherlands
A regional meeting was conducted by Liliane Foundation at the APCD Training Building on 22 to 24 September 2016 to strengthen networking and collaboration among strategic partner organizations (SPOs) of the Liliane Foundation in Asia. The APCD collaborated with Liliane Foundation in organizing the meeting. Attended by more than 20 participants from Asia and The Netherlands, the regional meeting discussed a variety of topics.

Study Visit of Silpakorn University Students and Teachers, Bangkok, Thailand, 22 September 2016

Sixty students and teachers from the Faculty of Decorative Arts of Silpakorn University, as well as staff from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP) of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) conducted a study visit of APCD on 22 September 2016 to learn more about APCD's history and regional activities and projects. Apart from taking part in some practical exercises introducing learning concepts related to APCD activities, the visitors also had a tour of accessible facilities and the inclusive 60 Plus+ Bakery and Cafe.

ASEAN Musts Project in Cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Bangkok, Thailand, 21 September 2016
Hey! ASEAN video presentation promoting knowledge and understanding
on ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community issues
Over 100 people, including representatives from the media, trooped to the APCD Training Building on 21 September to take part in the ASEAN Musts Project launch, held in cooperation with the MSDHS of Thailand. Among the highlights of the event were the Hey! ASEAN video presentation aimed at promoting knowledge and understanding of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community issues, the distribution of Hey! ASEAN information materials including the ASEAN Music Medley, a panel discussion on the theme of "Why is This the Best Time to Visit ASEAN?", games and media interviews. The event is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the DEP through the MSDHS and APCD that will pave the way for future cooperation.
