Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn led the opening ceremony of the 60 Plus+ Bakery & Cafe on 11 December 2015 at the APCD Administration Building, Bangkok, Thailand. The event was organized by the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) Foundation to commemorate the auspicious celebration of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 60th birth anniversary.
The 60 Plus+ Bakery & Cafe is a disability-inclusive bakery shop that employs and provides on-the-job-training to Thai persons with disabilities, who may eventually be hired at various Thai Yamazaki branches in Thailand. The event also recognized the contribution of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Thai Yamazaki Co. Ltd., Thai Beverage Public Company Ltd., Government of Japan through the Embassy of Japan in Thailand and Japan International Cooperation Agency as valuable supporters and partners of the 60 Plus+ Project activities.

Effective Communication Between Medical Stakeholders and Persons with Hearing Loss, Bangkok, Thailand, 18 December 2015

Sixty-seven participants took part in a seminar on Effective Communication Between Medical Stakeholders and Persons with Hearing Loss on 18 December 2015 at the APCD Training Building in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the Deaf Association of Bangkok and APCD, the seminar was held to promote the guidebook, 'Effective Communication Between Medical Stakeholders and Persons with Hearing Loss', and to make an impact on hospitals in the implementation of measures to improve communication for medical pesonnel and persons with hearing loss.

APCD/JAIF Project Training on Livelihood in Rural Market, Hanoi, Vietnam, 15-17 December 2015
Training on Livelihood in Rural Market in Ba Vi District
The APCD/JAIF Project conducted the Training on Livelihood in the Rural Market in Ba Vi District, Hanoi, Vietnam on 15 to 16 December. Attended by representatives from the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in Ba Vi District and members of Disabled People's Organizations. The APCD/JAIF Project team also visited various markets and conducted accessibility audits in said markets.

Meeting with Vietnam Autism Network, Hanoi, Vietnam, 15 December 2015
Exchange of information and activity updates between APCD and VAN
APCD met with members of the Vietnam Autism Network (VAN) in Hanoi, Vietnam on 15 December 2015 to strengthen ties and discuss the Network's current and future activities, including plans for the first ever Vietnam Autism Awareness Day scheduled to be held in April 2016 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Both APCD and VAN shared their respective publications in the meeting.

AICHR Regional Dialogue on the Mainstreaming of the Rights of PWDs in the ASEAN Community, Bangkok, Thailand, 1-3 December 2015

APCD participated in the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Regional Dialogue on the Mainstreaming of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the ASEAN Community on 1 to 3 December 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. The aim of the event was to strengthen the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as to develop a regional plan of action to mainstream the rights of persons with disabilities.
Invited as one of the speakers of the event, APCD presented the Good Practices and Lessons Learned in Mainstreaming the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Regional and International Experiences..
