The CIAI (Italian Association for Aid to Children)/APCD 'Community for All' Project continued its Capacity Building of Service Providers training series in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand on 19-22 October 2015.
The training, based on the Community-based Inclusive Development (CBID) comprehensive plan, encourages open communication between local service providers and disabled people's organizations (DPOs) for the purpose of assessing the community's knowledge about the needs of persons with disabilities. It also stresses the importance of accessibility in said communities.
The CIAI/APCD Project team was in Kanchanaburi, Thailand on 13 to 15 October 2015 to conduct a Capacity Building of Service Providers. Held to evaluate the needs of persons with disabilities in local communities and develop the capacity of service providers to sustain disability-related activities, the training provides an opportunity for DPOs and public and government institutions to discuss at length various disability-related issues with a goal towards empowering persons with disabilities in the community.
